I think the Italians have a love affair with stairs. LOL
I think, Barcelona isn't on your travel list, still as a precaution: In the Sagrada Familia you pay for an elevator. Which is helpful for you go way up high. But it only takes passenger going up and you have to walk down, which they don't tell you before. My legs were okay, but I am terrified of heights and narrow steep spiral staircases. I was shaking as a leave when I came back to solid ground after felt three hours.
It is the happiest day of her life love will keep her warm! You got to love the idea of paying money to walk up stairs, you should have asked how good is their plan of rescuing a lady from the stairs when she collapses and can not go up or down!
So far it sounds like a wonderful time, with memories to last!
Lovely. I have always wanted to see Florence.
WOW..Amazing pictures !!!

I think the Italians have a love affair with stairs. LOL

It's not just Italy. I encountered the same thing in Germany. This is the real secret to eating all of that rich fattening food and still managing to be thin and healthy. I actually lost weight during the two weeks we were in Germany in spite of all the cake and beer I had everyday! 8:-)
ooooh, i don't blame you a bit being nervous with your luggage in another's room, you can't trust anyone you don't know (or you can then learn to the contrary the hard way). so your stuff was returned safely and untouched?

Thanks for the infomative update. Wish I was there!

This is like an extra or a p.s. do not think of it as "I have limitations" think of it as a planed part of your trip to stop for wine stop for pastry and a coffee, so it is not an inconvenience but a planed stop! Letting any negative thoughts and energys for it go! And have fun!
Looks like you are having a great trip, Emjay. BTW very nice photos. Keep updating about your trip :)
All rounds lead to the Duomo in Florence!

before we all had telelvision we had time to climb stairs...

thanks for sharing your holiday.

beautiful pictures Emmy, thank you for bringing us along :))
[this is good]
I hope I didn't miss all the fun already! I so wish I would be there with you carrying your luggage. It's all better than sitting in front the computer working all day while the sun is beaming outside. Geez! Your photos look so beautiful. Have heaps of fun and eat well! Italy is such a great choice!
They continually built ontop of ruins so their structures kept getting taller and taller (that's what our guide told us). They also tended to build on hills so they could see their enemies approaching.
LOL - Nikki - we climbed Sagrada Familia about 3 years ago - when my foot worked! :-) It was spectacular! Those stairs were really narrow and winding though and people stopped all the way to the top resting!
I suspect you are "on your own" on those stairs! LOL. We had jackets and scarves on and that poor bride was sleeveless! The groom was probably warm though!
I think you would really enjoy it RM.
Thank you Worker. There are wonderful things to take photos of.
LOL - well I am wishing I could do the stairs so I could eat the cakes! I'm reduced to window shopping the goodies!
It didn't looked touched - but then I didn't have anything valuable in the bag I left for the bellboy so even if someone opened it they would've been disappointed LOL.
Oh - and imagine checking in and getting to your room to find it "furnished" with a couple of bags of clothing and electronic goodies. Hopefully they would be honest enough to say 'not ours".
Thank you - I'm sure you would love it
Thank you liya :-)
LOL - yes it is the centre..... everything worth seeing is apparently only a 20 minute circular walk from the Duomo. When we were in Rome we kept hearing "all roads lead to Rome" .......
ah, well then you were covered regardless.
Ah - the good old days of thinner, healthier people!
hopefully. i certainly wouldn't bank on it.
You are welcome - are you getting tired of carrying all my stuff yet? LOL - I'm sure my son is!
So far we have eaten a lot of good pizza, pasta, some wonderful sandwiches and a few pastries - oh, and lots of red wine!
I hope your foot is holding up ok!
[this is good]

Wonderful photos, Emjay! We are lucky we can see the familiar historic things afresh through your angles of good sense. Thank you for taking us along!

Thank you Magnifika. Thank you for sharing your cruise photos when you go because I don't think I will ever go on a cruise. Too much water LOL.
